The new year has just begun and rehearsals with guest choreographer Thomas Hauert are in full swing! Thomas Hauert founded his company ZOO in Brussels in 1998. Inspired by his choreographic work, Hauert developed an internationally recognised teaching method based on his movement research with ZOO. Since 2013, he is the artistic director of the bachelor programme for contemporary dance at La Manufacture, the Lausanne School of Performing Arts.

For him, improvisation is not primarily a tool to express himself, but one to create and compose movement. Is it possible to free the body from the boundaries of thought?

He is currently exploring this with our ensemble. His new creation will celebrate its premiere in Dresden on 23 May as part of a double bill together with William Forsythe's new creation and can also be seen in Frankfurt from 5 June.
