Ioannis Mandafounis' production "À la carte" has been nominated for this year's German theatre award DER FAUST in the category "Staging Dance"! "À la carte" was the first production of the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company under the artistic direction of Ioannis Mandafounis and is characterised by a variety of dance styles, atmospheres and themes.

In its nomination, the jury also emphasises the DFDC's personal signature:

"Ioannis Mandafounis and the new cast of Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company show themselves to be lively, vibrant, creative and collective in their first work. The audience is a direct partner and is lured out of its reserve in such a humorous and performative way that it becomes all the more receptive to the dance and choreographic quality of this evening. A fresh signature is presented here, in which each dancer shows their own qualities without abandoning the whole. The piece was visibly created from and with the company, which is reflected in the dance, performance, music and costumes. "A la Carte" offers the audience what they want to see without betraying itself in the least."

DER FAUST is an award by theatre professionals for theatre professionals and honours outstanding artistic achievements that reflect the diversity of the theatre scene in Germany. It has been awarded in individual categories since 2006 by the German Theatre Association together with the German Academy of Performing Arts and the Cultural Foundation of the Federal States.
